Copy, first draft
Every audience-facing string the build will need, written once here so the sessions paste rather than improvise. All of it passes the human-voice lint again before it ships, because the rewrite in context is where tells creep back in. Prices assume the recommended tiers; change them in one place if the owner picks others.
Voice, in one line: a studio that knows paper, talking to someone who wants a good sheet and does not want to be sold to.
Site-wide
- Wordmark: Artisan PDF Studio
- Tagline: Well-made PDF templates, made yours.
- Nav: Templates · Help · License
- Footer, left: the categories as links. Footer, right: Help, License, Terms, Privacy, Refunds. Footer, bottom: "Made by" + the Synergy mark, linked. "© 2026 Synergy".
- Email signup, everywhere it appears: heading "One new template a month." Body: "Join and the paper set is yours free: lined, graph and dot grid, with your name in the header." Field placeholder: "you@example.com" (rendered as a placeholder, never a mailto link). Button: "Join". Under it: "No newsletters between the newsletters. Leave any time."
- 404: heading "Not in the drawer." Body: "That page does not exist, or it moved when the studio was rebuilt. The templates are all here:" then the category links.
Homepage
- H1: Well-made PDF templates, made yours.
- Under it: Pick a design, type your name, choose a colour, print it. The plain version is free. Yours is a few dollars.
- Hero demo caption: This is the real template. Type, and it sets.
- Section, new work: "New this month"
- Section, categories: "The drawers" (with the keycap letters and "Press a letter to open a drawer" under
@media (hover: hover) only)
- Section, the standard: heading "How we make them". Six short promises, each one checkable:
- Designed by hand, checked on paper. Every template is printed on a home printer at 100% before it goes up.
- Prints true. What you see in the customizer is the file you get, in Letter and A4, from one purchase.
- Licensed fonts, named on every page. The license log is public.
- It will not sell you a page that does not fit. If your name runs off the ribbon, the button waits until it fits.
- The price is on the page before you start. One price, paid once. No subscription, no timer, no "only 3 left".
- A real free version of every design. One theme, Letter, a small credit line. That is the whole difference.
Template page
- Promise sentence, pattern: one sentence, what it is and what you can change, no adjectives about quality. The
meta.json files carry the first four.
- Paid CTA: "Make it yours · $7" (the price from
meta.json). Free CTA: "Download the plain version · free".
- Under the free CTA: "One theme, Letter, a small credit line at the foot. Everything else is the same design."
- What is inside, heading: "What you get". List pattern: "1 page · Letter and A4 · 6 themes · Fonts: Newsreader, Inter Tight · PDF · Personal and small-business use".
- Print notes, heading: "Printing it". Three lines: "Print at 100%, not 'fit to page', or the margins move." "Plain copier paper is fine for planners; certificates want something heavier." "Double-sided? See the help page." with the link.
- FAQ heading: "Questions". The five per template are in
meta.json.
- Related heading: "In the same drawer".
- The one-line honesty note, in the FAQ of every template: Q: "Is there a subscription?" A: "No. You pay once for the file. There is nothing to cancel."
Customizer
- Top bar: template title left; right: "Make it yours · $7" as the button, price in mono.
- Under the button: "Pay on Stripe. Your PDF is ready in about ten seconds, in Letter and A4, and a link comes by email that works for a year."
- Group titles: from
fields.json.
- Counter: "12 / 40" in mono, right-aligned in the label row.
- Overflow warning, under the field: "Too long for the ribbon by 3 characters." (the box name comes from the field's
data-max label; fall back to "for this line").
- Button while anything overflows: "Fix the fit to continue", disabled.
- Write it for me: the button label. While working: "Writing…". After: the field fills and a small "Undo" appears beside the button for thirty seconds. On failure: "Not available right now. The field is yours." Cap reached: same line.
- Reset: "Start over" (secondary, at the foot of the form; confirms once: "Clear everything you typed?").
- Autosave note, foot of the form: "Saved on this device as you type."
- Paper size control: "Letter (US)" / "A4".
- Theme chips: the theme label; under the light-ink chip, always: "printer-friendly".
- Logo dropzone: "Drop a PNG or JPEG, or tap to choose." After: the thumbnail and "Remove".
- Proof overlay text: PROOF (the word, repeating).
Success page
- Stamp: READY
- Heading: "Your invoice is ready." (the template title)
- Buttons: "Download Letter" · "Download A4"
- Under: "A link is in your email and works for a year. Order 3F9A." (the short order id in mono)
- Support line, on the success page and in the receipt, identical: "Something wrong with the file? Reply to your receipt with the order number."
- Link: "Make another" to the template's category.
- Waiting state (before ready): "Making your PDF. About ten seconds." with a plain progress line, no spinner.
- Failed state: heading "Your PDF is taking longer than usual." Body: "Your payment went through and your order number is 3F9A. We are making the file by hand and a link will be in your email within the hour. If it is not, reply to that email." No spinner.

Plain HTML, 600px, white on the desk grey, the mark and wordmark, the same words as the screen. Sender: Artisan PDF Studio. Reply-to: a real inbox.
- Receipt. Subject: "Your invoice template is ready". Body: "Ready." / "Your {title} is made in two sizes." / two buttons / "This link works for a year. Order {short id}." / "Printing it: print at 100%, not fit to page." / the support line / the footer.
- Re-download (a year later, or on request). Subject: "Your download link, again". Body: one line and the two buttons.
- Welcome to the list. Subject: "Your paper set". Body: "Lined, graph and dot grid, with the header blank so they are yours to write on." / three buttons / "One new template a month from here. Leave any time with the link at the foot."
- Monthly. Subject: the template's name, plainly ("A 2027 monthly calendar"). Body: one sheet image, two sentences, one link. Never more than one template per email.
Legal pages, outlines
Written plainly, short, in the build session, then read by the owner. No boilerplate imported from a generator.
- Terms. What you buy: a file and a license to use it, not the design. What the license allows (below). Refunds (below). That the free version is free and carries a credit line. That prices are as shown at checkout, paid once, and Stripe handles the card. Governing law: the owner's state. Contact: the reply-to address.
- License. Personal use on every template. Small-business use on the paid version: use the file in your own business, send the invoices, hand out the certificates. Not allowed: reselling the template, offering it as a download, claiming the design, removing the credit line from the free version. One page, five paragraphs.
- Refunds. "A file that does not open, or does not match the preview you bought: refunded, no argument. Reply to your receipt with the order number. A change of mind after the download is usually not refundable, because the file has been delivered, but write to us and we will be reasonable." Digital-goods withdrawal wording for EU buyers if Stripe Tax is on.
- Privacy. What we hold: your email and what you typed into a template, for a year, so the link keeps working; then it is deleted. Stripe holds the card, not us. Analytics with GA4 and the cookie consent bar if it ships. No selling or sharing. How to ask for deletion sooner: reply to the receipt.
